| Allison DP8000 |
|
Designed for use with diesel engines with a general rating of 975 net hp (727 kW). The DP8000 features six forward ranges and one reverse. Best suited for off-highway applications such as 85 and 100 ton (77 and 91 metric ton) rear and 150-ton (136 metric ton) bottom dump trucks, oil field equipment and other specialized off-highway equipment. The hydraulic "cushion effect" of the Allison torque converter reduces shock and strain on the entire drivetrain, including the engine. It also prevents engine lugging and resulting damage, while protecting the transmission from damaging stress. This protective feature reduces downtime for Allison-equipped equipment. |
