Design Features & Benefits
  • Designed for use with diesel engines up to 430 nhp (320 KW). Three forward ranges and three reverse. This transmission is best suited for off highway/Locomotive applications.
  • Clutches are multidisc design, Oil-Cooled hydraulically operated, spring released, and self-compensating for formal wear. Spur-type planetary gears are designed for strength and long life.
  • The Allison three-element torque converter provides smooth, shock-free operation. A choice of converters permits matching the CRT 5633 to a wide variety of engines.
  • Provisions for neutral start switch, reverse signal switch.
  • Output drives available in two locations on the drop box.
  • A speedometer drive is available on drop box model transmissions. The provision is located on the rear cover and has a 1:1 ratio.
  • A straight through version is available with a stub shaff Output. (customer must provide rear cover & shaft).
  • A selection of optional driveline flanges is available.
  • Direct mount units utilize flexplate drive is optional.
  • Optional ground drive PTO provision is available upon request, for drop box models.

  • SCANN is user friendly. Interactive operation allows alternative vehicle configurations to be quickly evaluated to insure optimized powertrain selection.
