| Pistons - Light weight aluminum pistons designed with channel oil cooling behind the fire rings which allowed engineers to locate the fire rings as high as possible in the cylinders, for improved combustion, fuel economy and emissions. |

| Electronic Unit Pumps Fuel System - Fuel delivery unit pumps ride directly on the in-block camshaft that provide electronic unit fuel injection at high pressures to meet exhaust emissions. |
| Integral Engine Brake System - A fifth valve integrated in each cylinder head is controlled electronically by DDEC. The fifth valve operated independently of gear train timing and works with an exhaust brake to provide high performance engine braking. The entire system adds 50 pounds and no height to the engine. The low profile package is quieter than typical engine brakes. |
| Air to Air Charge Cooler and Cooling System - A high flow cooling system allows the vehicle OEM to design smaller cooling packages to be lighter weight and to fit under sloping hoods. |
